The Alexandria Third Street Streetscape Project (2002-08) is a State and City streetscape enhancement project partially funded through the State of Louisiana-Facility Planning and Control ($2,000,000.00) and Federal Earmark Project ($250,000.00) through FHWA/LaDoTD-TCSP Pilot Project funding.

The Moore Planning Group design focused on providing creative and alternative paving patterns for pedestrian sidewalks, street pavement and intersections, introducing a continued pattern to the urban fabric of downtown Alexandria, and providing comfort spaces for the public. The streetscape improvements consisted of providing minor utility work, special pavement within the street and pedestrian sidewalks, streetscape site elements of decorative lighting, street clock, site furniture, and street trees.

MPG was instrumental in the process of acquiring funding for project, and was selected through the City's A&E review process as the project prime Consultant with Pan American Engineers as the sub-consultant. The project consisted of coordination with federal, state and city governmental agencies, Alexandria City Council, business owners and special interest groups.
