The Shreveport Riverfront Park is a ±5 acre site. This first phase of a large over-all master plan for the riverfront needed to set the standard for the level of quality in future riverfront projects as part of the city’s urban redevelopment commitment.
Moore Planning Group, LLC (MPG) was retained to conduct community visioning and programming to prepare a park master plan and construction documents, as well as to conduct construction observation through project closeout. After working with the Riverfront Committee and citizens in public forums, MPG developed design concepts which better connected the community to the water’s edge.
Safety, low maintenance, uniqueness, and flexible areas for festivals and concerts were important concerns. MPG, the primary design professionals of the project, assembled a team of engineers, architects, and other consultants to assist in turning the design concept into a built reality. Diligent construction drawing preparation and construction administration paid off in a spectacular addition to Shreveport’s riverfront, which is now featured as the centerpiece for numerous city and private functions and festivals.
