Moore Planning Group, LLC (MPG) and Newman Partnership, through a joint planning effort, developed a conceptual Master Plan for the City of Shreveport Governmental Center. MPG held the responsibility for development of the overall site campus concepts, from the program as developed by the Newman Partnership.
The team's design process conceptualized several generations of site development options, which led to a final, preferred concept. The final campus Master Plan expanded on the potential to develop the overall site into a pedestrian campus.
Building and roadway networks focused on the campus outside as the place for vehicular circulation and parking, while the campus interior served as a pedestrian drop-off and plaza space.
The project is currently in development, and the courthouse and additions to the customer service center building (annex) are under construction. Other campus enhancement areas afforded special consideration are the development of a future Texas / Murphy Street gateway, thematic “Texas Trail” pedestrian plaza, city administration plaza, and preservation of open green spaces within the campus.
