The Pineville Urban Master Plan is a document that provides a vision and direction for the future of the downtown core of the city of Pineville, Louisiana. This comprehensive plan for the 16-square-mile study area can be used by local government to guide growth in ways most advantageous to the city’s residents and prospective businesses. The master plan focuses on five important assets of the “Old Town” fabric:

• Main Street
• Existing neighborhoods
• Central Louisiana State Hospital Property
• The riverfront
• Forts Randolph and Buhlow

The urban master plan is a multi-phase document which includes:

• Study area site inventory and analysis
• Historical background and community input
• Land use master plan for the Old Town area
• Site element design criteria
• Implementation strategies

The Pineville Urban Master Plan provides the city with an immediate and long-term strategic plan for acquisition and implementation funding for projects cited in the plan. Most importantly, the planning process will be a catalyst for stimulating a shared community vision for a city on the move.
